PFEIFER now also certified for rope inspections on the high seas (HUET/GWO)
The exercise was part of a special training course, the so-called Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) with CAEBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System). A helicopter crash was simulated and the emergency evacuation trained in a practice pool. Evacuation from the air, on the surface of the water and under the water as well as the correct behaviour on a life raft were also part of the training. In addition, the PFEIFER employees attained the Basic Safety Training Standard of the Global Wind Organisation (GWO). This is aimed at people who work in wind power plants and is intended to ensure accident-free working as far as possible. For example, safe abseiling from a lofty height was practised. The two certificates attained will enable the PFEIFER employees now to carry out rope inspections on offshore cranes directly on the high seas. The customer will save a great deal of time and money as a result.
